Welcome to the Gift Registry for the Catholic Parish of Saint Ambrose’s centenary celebration! As we commemorate this momentous milestone, we invite our parishioners and supporters to leave a lasting legacy by participating in this special initiative. The gift registry serves as a gesture of charity, embodying our generation’s desire to make a profound impact on the Parish that has nurtured us, as we express our heartfelt gratitude for all the blessings we have received. By generously contributing to the registry, we are not only giving back to the Parish, but also paving the way for future generations to experience the same sense of belonging and spiritual guidance. Let’s unite in solidarity and embrace this opportunity to set up the Parish, our spiritual home, to serve and inspire future generations for years to come!
8 Brass Candle Sticks
Each Altar should have a set of six candles, with a further two candles near the tabernacle, to be used during the Mass or during liturgies and at other times of prayer. We currently do not have a set of more than four matching candlesticks.

Rebinding of Lectionaries
The Lectionary is the book from which the readings are proclaimed during Mass. The Lectionaries are currently in great disrepair and are tearing more and more with each use. While Lectionaries are out of print, a simply rebinding will mean that we will be able to reuse the lectionaries we currently own for years to come.

Statue of Saint Ambrose
While we are blessed to have statues of a number of Saints at St Ambrose, we don't actually have a statue of our patron Saint, St Ambrose of Milan. It would be a highlight of the centenary celebrations to be able to have a tangible reminder of the spiritual protection of our patron.

20 Purificators
$15.70 each. Purificators are used to clean the sacred vessels after Holy Communion during the Mass, and are carefully washed so show the greatest respect for any particles of the Blessed Sacrament that might remain after Mass. Currently, the majority of our purificators are very old, and have become aquaphobic due to overuse.

10 Manutergia
$24.00 each. The Manutergium is the finger towel that the priest uses to wash his hands clean from iniquity and sin at the end of the Offertory, in preparation to offer the Holy Sacrifice on behalf of all the people. We don't have any Manutergia at St Ambrose, and currently rely on bathroom hand towels.

10 Corporals
$22.00 each. The Corporal is placed on the Altar during Mass. it is the cloth upon which bread and wine become the Body and Blood of Christ. It is carefully folded so that any particles of the Blessed Sacrament that fall on it can be caught and reverently dealt with after the Holy Mass. Currently, our corporals are beginning to age and do not match with the other Altar linens that we use.

Green Liturgical Banners and Altar Frontals
The General Instruction of the Roman Missal talks about vestments (and by extension, material furnishings) saying that their "beauty and nobility (should) not be sought in an abundance of overlaid ornamentation, but rather in the material used and in the design". Not being able to afford materials of a high quality, the parish has relied on polyester banners. We hope to be able to furnish the sanctuary with the dignity of material called for by the Church.

Lavabo Bowl and Jug
The Lavabo Bowl and Jug are used by the priest to wash his hands clean from iniquity and sin at the end of the Offertory, in preparation to offer the Holy Sacrifice on behalf of all the people. We have never had a dedicated lavabo bowl and jug. Until now, the parish has been using glass milk jugs, which often spill and damage the wooden sanctuary flooring.

Altar Lectern
The Altar Lectern is the stand upon which the Missal is placed from the Offertory until Holy Communion. Currently, the parish only has a flat, wooden Altar Lectern, from which it can be quite difficult to read.

Lectern
The Lectern is the place from which the priest leads the community in prayer from the presidential chair. We currently do not have a lectern, but have been using music stands and a lectern borrowed from the school.

Reliquary
A very exciting moment for the parish in its centenary celebrations is the gift of a relic of our Patron, Saint Ambrose, from the Archdiocese of Milan, where he is buried. In gratitude for the generosity of this gift to our community, and to help us all in out prayer, the reliquary will be a secure and venerable way of storing this reminder of the presence and assistance of our patron.

Purifier Bowl
Each Church should be in possession of a purifier bowl, which stays next to the Tabernacle. The purifier bowl is used to dissolve and appropriately care for the Blessed Sacrament, in the case that it drops, or is dirty or damaged, so cannot be consumed. The parish does not currently have a purifier bowl.

Key Box
The Eucharist is the heart of our community, and the Tabernacle is thus the most important item in the Church, as it contains Our Lord, who stays in this "prison of love" to be close to us, and for us to pray with him in his eucharistic presence. The Key Box is the place where the key for this most precious cell is kept in dignity, safety and security. The parish does not currently have a key box.

Candle Snuffer
The candle snuffer is used to safely extinguish candles, without doing any damage to the candle, or to the altar cloths, which can be dirtied by welted wax or burnt oil. The current candle snuffer in the parish is in disrepair.

Cruets
The cruets hold the water and wine that is used in the Mass. Our cruets are currently in disrepair, and their holding tray is given to clamping, meaning that there is a great risk of spilling their contents during the Mass.

Sanctuary Lamp
The sanctuary lamp shows us when Our Lord is present to us in the Eucharist, being reserved in the Tabernacle. Every church should have a continually burning flame that indicates this presence, and symbolise our prayer being constantly offered before Our Lord in the Tabernacle. Originally, Saint Ambrose had a standing sanctuary lamp, but due to disrepair, this was replaced with an electric lamp.

Tray
The tray is used in various celebrations, especially to hold and offer sacred items that are only used in special Masses like the Easter Vigil and Confirmations. We currently do not own a liturgical tray, to have had to use plastic trays.

3 Pyxes
$60.00 each. Pyxes are used to bring communion to the sick. They are also used to separate low gluten hosts from regular hosts during the Mass. The parish currently has no pyxes appropriate for storage of the Blessed Sacrament, and parishioners often rely on the priests' personal pyxes that they use to bring Holy Communion to the sick and housebound.
