Arie’s 30th

Arie is turning 30, and as a surprise gift I’m trying to rustle up an epic collection of art books I know he’ll love.
Whitechapel: Documents of Contemporary Art
This is an anthology of exceptional books on a particular theme, practice, or concern that is of central significance to contemporary visual culture. The artists and writers included in these books represent the diversity of perspectives, generations, and voices defining art today. Arie has a few of these books already, and he uses them all the time.
To have the whole collection would set him up for a long time, and I know he’d really appreciate the group gesture. Each book is just under $40 each. I’ve made this gift registry so you can select the individual title you want to give to him (and maybe write a message in the cover?), or you can just send me some cash to the common pool I’ll order as many of them as I can.
Let me know what you wanna do, which book you want to give, etc. You can organise it yourself, or post them safely and securely to my workplace and I’ll organise the wrapping etc.

He’s in the process of sending out invites to his party, which will be in Westgarth / Clifton Hill on Saturday 13 July. It’s a progressive celebration – we’ll starting in the afternoon, and roving across a few sites, before landing at Some Velvet Morning, a bar in Clifton Hill. There we’ll be doing *full band karaoke*, playing shuffle board, and partying into the night. And giving him this epic library of books!
