Kristy and conventional have never gone hand in hand. The journey to start my family has been a long one through IVF and a long process through the adoption journey which I started in 2019. I have been blessed with a child.
‘A child born to another woman will call me mum. The depth of the tragedy and the magnitude of the privilege are not lost on me.’

I am not walking into this blinded and am grateful for the support along the journey the way. Adoption in Australia varies from state to state, and my adoption process wont be finalised for another few years. Barnardos has been the most amazing organisation to work with and if anyone has a place in their heart for adoption or fostering (even weekend or short term) I couldn’t recommended them more. So there will be many questions and some I wont be able to answer for privacy reason, everyone is on the list to be met but the timing may go differently to what I plan as little one may have different ideas.

All I’ve ever wanted,

My child may not come
from my very own womb,
but he will be a part of me
and our love will help us bloom.
