Welcome to the Gift Registry for the Catholic Parish of Saint Ambrose’s centenary celebration! As we commemorate this momentous milestone, we invite our parishioners and supporters to leave a lasting legacy by participating in this special initiative. The gift registry serves as a gesture of charity, embodying our generation’s desire to make a profound impact on the Parish that has nurtured us, as we express our heartfelt gratitude for all the blessings we have received. By generously contributing to the registry, we are not only giving back to the Parish, but also paving the way for future generations to experience the same sense of belonging and spiritual guidance. Let’s unite in solidarity and embrace this opportunity to set up the Parish, our spiritual home, to serve and inspire future generations for years to come!

Rebinding of Lectionaries

The Lectionary is the book from which the readings are proclaimed during Mass. The Lectionaries are currently in great disrepair and are tearing more and more with each use. While Lectionaries are out of print, a simply rebinding will mean that we will be able to reuse the lectionaries we currently own for years to come.

Statue of Saint Ambrose

Statue of Saint Ambrose

While we are blessed to have statues of a number of Saints at St Ambrose, we don't actually have a statue of our patron Saint, St Ambrose of Milan. It would be a highlight of the centenary celebrations to be able to have a tangible reminder of the spiritual protection of our patron.

Green Liturgical Banners and Altar Frontals

Green Liturgical Banners and Altar Frontals

The General Instruction of the Roman Missal talks about vestments (and by extension, material furnishings) saying that their "beauty and nobility (should) not be sought in an abundance of overlaid ornamentation, but rather in the material used and in the design". Not being able to afford materials of a high quality, the parish has relied on polyester banners. We hope to be able to furnish the sanctuary with the dignity of material called for by the Church.

Reliquary

Reliquary

A very exciting moment for the parish in its centenary celebrations is the gift of a relic of our Patron, Saint Ambrose, from the Archdiocese of Milan, where he is buried. In gratitude for the generosity of this gift to our community, and to help us all in out prayer, the reliquary will be a secure and venerable way of storing this reminder of the presence and assistance of our patron.

Purifier Bowl

Each Church should be in possession of a purifier bowl, which stays next to the Tabernacle. Key Box

Key Box

The Eucharist is the heart of our community, and the Tabernacle is thus the most important item in the Church, as it contains Our Lord, who stays in this "prison of love" to be close to us, and for us to pray with him in his eucharistic presence. The Key Box is the place where the key for this most precious cell is kept in dignity, safety and security. The parish does not currently have a key box.

Sanctuary Lamp

Sanctuary Lamp

The sanctuary lamp shows us when Our Lord is present to us in the Eucharist, being reserved in the Tabernacle. Every church should have a continually burning flame that indicates this presence, and symbolise our prayer being constantly offered before Our Lord in the Tabernacle. Originally, Saint Ambrose had a standing sanctuary lamp, but due to disrepair, this was replaced with an electric lamp.
