Phil & Sally

So many people have very thoughtfully asked ”what would you like as an engagement present?”, to which Phil swiftly replies ”ask Sally”. When it comes to asking Sally, well I really wouldn’t know where to start. One, because I don’t like asking for things, and two because I have boxes of kitchen utensils, bowls, serving platters, large and small appliances, enough furniture to fill at least one large house, dinner sets, wine/beer/whisky glasses, decanters etc. etc. etc. Anything we do need as a couple is either going to be WAY too pricey to ask anybody to purchase, or if it is in a reasonable price bracket then we would prefer to have items that match or compliment both other items and/or existing decor. This means we circled back to the dreaded thought of giving money like we are some kind of charity case so that we could contribute the funds to bigger ticket items.
Whilst having one of these ”I don’t know” conversations it was very cleverly suggested that even if there was something more expensive that we wanted to still let people know as there may be a group who all contribute to one item. That way we get something really useful, and anyone wanting to contribute is able to knowing that they’re not purchasing the eighth salad bowl we are going to receive.
So with that said, we have decided to brain storm some of our wish list items and things that we will need to buy in the near future. Some of the more practical household items are outrageously expensive (fridges, washing machines etc.), but we intend to purchase these soon anyway so any contribution towards them, no matter how small would be greatly appreciated. Please do not feel pressure to make a contribution. This page has been set up solely for those who wish to buy us a gift.
